Adaobi Gwacham
Our Owner/Operator
“Make it happen” are the famous words of our inspirational Owner/operator. To her, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you came from; If you can put in the work, you can achieve your dreams. She consistently encourages her Team on a regular basis to push the limits of our personal development, the bounds of our goals, and our drive for success. She holds everyone to this standard, especially herself.
Adaobi was born in Nigeria, Africa and came to the US with her family in 1999 in search of a new life. At her first job at a local restaurant, she served a guest who happened to be a Chick-fil-A operator. Impressed by her positive attitude and strong work ethic, the Operator sparked the beginning of her extensive career, as she quickly got hired at the Chick-fil-A in Chino Hills, CA.
After 6 years of hard work and dedication, Adaobi was given an opportunity to work for Chick-fil-A’s corporate office in Atlanta, GA, where she pursued her ultimate dream of owning her own Chick-fil-A. Nothing could stop her. She traveled across the country taking part in over 120 grand openings when one day, her dream came true. She was selected to become the Owner/Operator for the first Chick-fil-A in Pasadena, CA in 2014.
“It was surreal for probably the first six months that I actually accomplished my goal. All my hard work actually paid off, but the best part was that I made my parents proud.”
Adaobi is nothing short of exemplary. She made her dream happen, and she wishes nothing less for her Team Members. Often referred to as her nickname “Dobes”, she continues to dedicate time to our development and success, despite her extensive responsibilities. As she put it, “I know what it’s like to struggle, and I want things to be different for my Team Members. I want to create a family in my restaurant. They may not always work for me, but while they are here, I will take care of them and make sure their needs are met. I help them think about their futures and I tell them that anyone can achieve their goals. You just have to put in the work and get your education, no matter who you are.”
“Make it happen.”
